The engine can prove to be a major problem for the Aston Martin DB 4, 4GT, 5, & 6 marques. They are now over 50 years old, and being manufactured from aluminium from this era all either have or will suffer from natural corrosion problems with inherent or age related design flaws.
Most engines have been welded once if not several times. On a corroded component this is only a stop gap rectification and cannot be repeated indefinitely.
Parts For Astons Ltd have invested many thousands of man-hours remanufacturing, testing, evaluating and where necessary redesigning all the major engine components for the 1960’s DB straight six engine range of cars. As a result we now accept orders for brand new replacement engines, built to factory or the customers’ specification by Aston Martin trained engineers. This will enable you to remove and store your much valued original engine, protecting your car’s provenance. |

Our DB engine blocks and cylinder heads are manufactured in the UK using traditional methods from high specification raw material, which were originally developed by our foundry for use in Formula 1 engines. The engine block main bearing cap line has been totally redesigned and is now an integral part of the block, resulting in a much stronger and rigid bottom end. We have also strengthened and improved the cylinder liner area, making it possible to accommodate larger liners without compromising the strength of the block. These modifications have been completed with no alteration to the visual appearance of the engine block. |
